Reformer Pilates will give you a phenomenal full body workout. The slow controlled movements of each class incorporate cardio, strength training, endurance, core, flexibility and balance for each and every movement. The need for precision and control whilst practicing the technique  and the ability to connect mind and body means our classes of no more than 5 allows our instructors  to give you the attention needed to grasp the principles safely and effectively. Using the latest Reformers in the Align Pilates C Series collection, launched in April 2020 the C8 Pro has taken all the best bits from past machines and added more, making it the Ultimate Reformer! With the use of 8 ‘roller blade style’ wheels for a quieter and softer glide, rapid change spring bar radically changing the ease and speed of adjusting the Reformer, being particularly beneficial for group classes, which is why the C8 Pro Reformer was undoubtedly our machine of choice for Urban Reformer Pilates.

What is Reformer Pilates?

Reformer Pilates is a form of exercise which shares the principles of centring, concentration, control, precision, breath and flow of a traditional mat class performed on specialist equipment (the Reformer), allowing a more dynamic and targeted workout. The Reformer machine designed by Joseph Pilates, involves a carriage and a system of springs, ropes and pulleys creating resistance to provide an intense full body workout. A wide variety of exercises can be performed on the reformer to promote length, strength, flexibility and balance. Exercises consists of pushing/pulling the carriage, or holding the carriage steady during an exercise using the resistance of the springs. An extremely versatile piece of equipment, exercises on the reformer can be performed seated, standing, pulling the straps, pushing the foot-bar, perched on the foot-bar, perched on the shoulder blocks, sideways, as well as the use with additional equipment such as Pilates ring, small weights, resistance bands, and much more…
